Kanwar Chadha, Ph.D., Advisor

Dr. Chadha has a unique blend of management and technology commercialization expertise, acquired while being at the forefront of innovation in information and communications technologies for over 30 years.  Dr. Chadha began his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories where he spent some 14+ years and was deeply involved with leading edge technologies.  Dr. Chadha participated in the design of the first cellular wireless system for trial, the design of Merlin® phone system, and the design of System-25 digital PBX. While running public and private companies and heading technology groups within AT&T Bell Laboratories, Dr. Chadha acquired deep business knowledge in taking a company public, capital raising, M&A, restructures, corporate finance, sales and marketing, business development, manufacturing, R&D, general management and human resource management. Before thereto, he launched Oakana Holdings, a company providing services ranging from business process outsourcing, manufacturing, joint ventures, finance and restructuring, capital raising, R&D, to human capital resource management. Prior to this, he spent 13 years as an entrepreneur engaged in acquiring, growing and operating publishing, digital graphics and commercial printing companies.  From 2000 through 2006, Dr. Chadha served as the Chairman, CEO and President of Entrada Networks, a publicly-traded company that designed fiber optic data transport systems, metro and wide area network connectivity products, and provided solutions for digital imaging, security, storage, disaster recovery and information technology infrastructures.  

He holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, a Masters of Applied Science, with honors, in Control Systems from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelors of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, with honors, from Thapar College of Engineering, Punjab, India.
